Penn State, Indian Institute of Science award joint research seed grants

Penn State and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have announced the awardees for the 2024-25 cycle of their collaboration program. These awardees comprise four joint projects that connect Penn State and IISc researchers. The selected projects combine the unique expertise of each partnering institution to address global challenges or matters of bilateral importance to India and the United States.

Penn State Alumni Association announces $20,000 match for Renaissance Fund gifts

The Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA) has announced a $20,000 matching commitment that will grow the scholarship endowment recently established in honor of 2024 Renaissance Fund honorees Roger Williams, retired PSAA executive director, and his wife, Karen Magnuson, retired assistant director of University marketing. In recognition of the Renaissance Fund’s 55th anniversary, the PSAA will match gifts of $550 or more to any named Renaissance Fund with an equal contribution to the Roger L. Williams and Karen L. Magnuson Renaissance Fund.

Ron Darbeau named associate vice president for Commonwealth Campuses

Ron Darbeau, chancellor and dean at Penn State Altoona, has been named associate vice president for Commonwealth Campuses in Penn State’s Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, effective Aug. 1. In addition to his new duties, Darbeau will continue to serve as chancellor and dean at Altoona.

New scholarship supports IST students transitioning from Penn State campuses

A $100,000 gift from Penn State Altoona alumnus Stephen Pace and his wife, Rita Pace, has endowed a new scholarship for students in the College of IST. The Pace Family Scholarship will support full-time IST undergraduate students who have demonstrated a financial need and are transitioning from a Penn State campus to University Park.
