'Research Art Collection' showcase in Old Main

"Research Art Collection" is on display in the Office of Senior Vice President for Research on the third floor in Old Main at University Park. The exhibit showcases the art of research and the research of art and is open to the public.

Video series shares sustainability lessons from trip to New Zealand, Australia

If a picture is worth a thousand words, Annie Taylor hopes videos will bring an invaluable experience — an opportunity to learn about sustainability — to everyone, without traveling far from home. Last year, Taylor, senior assistant dean for distance learning in the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, and Kaitlin Farnan, a business instructor at Penn State Altoona, led 20 Penn State students on a trip to New Zealand and Australia to learn about sustainable business practices. Their experiences on that trip were captured on video and are now available online as a collection in the University’s Repository for Open and Affordable Materials.

Gil, Molloy, O’Connor named 2024 Penn State Teaching Fellows

Juan Gil, professor of mathematics at Penn State Altoona; Sonia Molloy, associate professor of human development and family studies at Penn State York; and Jacqueline O’Connor, professor of mechanical engineering in the College of Engineering, have received the Alumni/Student Award for Excellence in Teaching and have been named 2024 Penn State Teaching Fellows.

Penn State’s Commonwealth Campuses and the state’s community colleges have announced a new collaboration aimed at expanding educational opportunities in Pennsylvania and removing barriers to degree completion among college students. The collaboration builds upon long-standing relationships between the campuses and the community colleges and a shared commitment to access and affordability in higher education.

Ashley Owens named Penn State’s interim Title IX coordinator

Ashley Owens, director of student accountability and conflict response at Penn State Altoona, has been named the University’s interim Title IX coordinator, effective Feb. 12. Owens assumes the role following the appointment of Amber Grove as chief ethics and compliance officer, as announced on Feb. 6.
