UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn’s Woods Music Festival (PWMF) returns for its 2024 edition, promising two weeks filled with enchanting performances, vibrant tunes and unforgettable musical experiences. From June 16 to June 29, music enthusiasts are invited to immerse themselves in an array of captivating concerts featuring talented musicians from around the region.

The festival's program features a diverse repertoire, including masterpieces by Domenico Cimarosa, W. A. Mozart, Charles Gounod, Pytor I. Tchaikovsky, Guillo Espel and Ludwig van Beethoven. Event highlights include:

Music in the Gardens on Sunday, June 16, at 7:00 p.m.: The festival kicks off with an outdoor performance by the PWMF Wind Symphony at the Arboretum at Penn State. Tonya Mitchell-Spradlin will debut this new addition to the festival with American band classics. Admission and parking are free, offering an evening for families and friends to enjoy. Arrive early to explore the arboretum with musicians planted around the gardens.

Chamber Concerts on Wednesday, June 19, and Wednesday, June 26, at 7:00 p.m.: Delve into the intimate world of chamber music with two exceptional concerts at the Recital Hall. Featuring repertoire from the romantic period to contemporary works, these performances promise to captivate audiences with their exquisite harmonies.

Jazz Concerts on Friday, June 21, and Friday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m.: Get ready to swing and groove to the rhythm of jazz at the Olsan-Stone Terrace. With repertoire from the sounds of a big band and the American songbook, these concerts offer a fusion of musical styles in a lively outdoor concert atmosphere.

Festival Orchestra Concerts on Saturday, June 22, and Saturday, June 29, at 7:00 p.m.: Experience the grandeur of orchestral music at the Recital Hall. Featuring renowned soloists such as Jeffrey and Gareth Zhengut, originally from State College and now playing in the Cleveland Orchestra, playing Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, and cellist Kim Cook, performing Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, these concerts promise to take audiences on a musical journey like no other.

Tickets for PWMF concerts, excluding Music in the Gardens, are priced at $30 for adults and $10 for students with ID or 18 years and under. Additionally, patrons can take advantage of the PICK6 package, offering a 15% discount on six or more tickets, along with complimentary parking in the Nittany Parking Deck.

Avoid the online service fee by visiting the ticket center in person or calling directly at 814-863-0255. For those who prefer to choose their reserved seats in person, the box office is open at Eisenhower Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at the Recital Hall Box Office from 6:00 p.m. prior to concerts.
